House of Reps Committee Laments Infrastructure Decay at FULOKOJA
House of Representatives Committee on University Education visits Federal University Lokoja, expresses concern over infrastructure decay, security challenges, pledges support for improvements.
Recently, the House of Representatives Committee on University Education conducted an oversight visit to the Federal University Lokoja, Kogi State, where significant concerns surfaced regarding the institution's infrastructure. Hon. Abubakar Hassan Fulata led the committee and voiced disappointment over the campus's incomplete buildings and inadequate road networks.
Hon. Fulata highlighted the urgent need to address these challenges, emphasizing that the university community, including students and staff, face significant security risks from banditry and kidnapping. He noted that these security concerns have led to a near-desertion of campus facilities after 6 pm, with hostel accommodations left largely vacant due to safety fears.
"The oversight visit is not intended to accuse anyone but to ensure that legislative appropriations are effectively directed towards resolving these critical issues," Hon. Fulata affirmed.
