The Management of the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE) has banned students from cooking in the hostels.

All students are totally banned from cooking in their rooms in the hostels. They are advised to use the kitchen available to all the hostels.

The Management of the University deeply sympathizes with those affected by the recent fire incident in Hostel F, but strongly warn that continuous violation of the law against cooking in the hostels cannot be tolerated any longer as it is the major cause of fire incidents in the hostels.

Henceforth any student caught cooking in their rooms in the hostels will have their appliances (stoves, gas cookers, hot plates, boiling rings etc) permanently confiscated and also face disciplinary action from the University Authorities.
