IAUE faculty of social sciences to move into their new building

Staff of Faculty of Social sciences have been directed to move into their new building at new Haven that is completed and ready for habitation from now to Monday October 9, 2023, Myschoolnews report.

The Vice Chancellor of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education Professor Okechuku Onuchuku gave the directive while handing over the keys of the new building to the Dean of the Faculty Professor Nyekachi Amadi on Friday October 6, 2023.

He also urged staff and students to ensure that they use the facilities and keep it in good condition at all times.

Receiving the keys to the new building, the Dean of the Faculty Professor Nyekachi Amadi expressed appreciation to the Vice Chancellor for the giant strides and for considering the Faculty of Social sciences building at this difficult times. He equally thanked the University Management for providing an enabling environment for staff and students of the Faculty to function and asked God to bless them.

The Dean promised that they will keep the place healthy and prayer for more resources to come for the Vice Chancellor to do more.

The Faculty of Social sciences building is a two storey classrooms/office blocks with a ground floor and two suspended floors. It has three classrooms on the left wing with each of the classrooms having a carrying capacity of two hundred and forty seats.

There are four offices for Heads of Department with their support staff in the Faculty building. There are also thirteen Professorial offices and all offices are ensuite. 

The Dean's Conference room is on the last floor with a smaller meeting room on the first floor with public toilets in abundance both at the entrance lobby and at the classroom blocks.

This 2021 Tetfund intervention project is well protected with burglary proof and has enough parking space.

Little wonder then that Tetfund Inspectors who visited described the state of the art facility as the best that they have inspected in the zone in terms of quality and finishing. 

They also commended the contractor for a good job and the University for thoroughly supervising the project to its logical conclusion.
