IPPIS Salary Payment Commences for Civil Servants After Technical Glitches**

Civil servants whose salaries were initially withheld by the Federal Government due to technical glitches and discrepancies in the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) have started receiving credit alerts for their November salaries. The issue, which affected thousands of civil servants, was reported to be related to irregularities on the IPPIS platform.

Senior civil servants confirmed the development, stating that the alert for November 2023 salaries began reflecting on Wednesday. The payment follows the assurance from sources within the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation that the technicalities causing the salary withholding would be resolved.

A senior civil servant expressed satisfaction, stating, "The alert dropped a few minutes ago. I am happy to inform you that my November 2023 salary has now been paid. Same thing with others in my office."

The National President of the Association of Senior Civil Servants, Tommy Etim, had earlier cautioned that approximately 5,000 civil servants risked forfeiting their November and December salaries over IPPIS verification discrepancies. Etim noted that only those who had completed their verification but were mistakenly delisted had their salaries restored.

While addressing the situation, Etim explained, "A total of 2,772 have been verified and forwarded to IPPIS for payment because there were no issues. The names of 5,000 workers who have discrepancies are to be forwarded to their DHR for confirmation."

The IPPIS salary payment issue had caused concern among civil servants, and the recent development marks a positive step forward in resolving the challenges faced by affected employees.
