Isa Mustapha Agwai I Polytechnic Celebrates Engineering Excellence
Isa Mustapha Agwai I Polytechnic (IMAP) Lafia recently celebrated the outstanding achievements of its staff and student in the field of engineering. Barnabas Bashayi, a staff member, emerged as the Overall Best in all Nigerian Polytechnics and North Central Nigeria at the 2025 COMPODET Staff Innovation Competition.
Additionally, Chima Olochukwu, a National Diploma 1 student, won the Best Student in Student Project Competition 2025 (North Central Nigeria) COMPODET.
The institution's Rector, Assoc. Prof. Nurudeen Mu'azu Maifata, commended the winners for their exceptional creativity and engineering prowess. He attributed their success to the policy initiatives of Governor Abdullahi Sule, which have transformed IMAP into a hub for technical education in Nigeria. Maifata emphasized that this achievement has elevated the polytechnic's status among its peers and reaffirmed its vision to become one of the top five competitive polytechnics by 2030.
The Dean of the School of Engineering Studies, Engr. Jibrin Abdullahi, highlighted the significant boost in engineering programs due to the introduction of new courses and accreditation at national and higher national diploma levels. He expressed gratitude to Governor Sule and Rector Maifata for their support in upgrading the institution to a national pride.
During the celebration, awards of distinguished service were presented to notable individuals, including Governor Abdullahi Sule and Assoc. Prof. Nurudeen Mu'azu Maifata. This recognition underscores the institution's commitment to excellence and innovation in engineering education .
