JAMB to Launch Customized SIM Cards for 2024/2025 UTME Registration

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) will issue customized SIM cards to candidates registering for the 2024/2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). This initiative, in partnership with the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC), aims to address the frequent issue of stolen or missing Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) cards.
JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, announced this development during a meeting with the West Africa Civil Societies Forum (WACSOF) on June 27, 2024, in Abuja. He stated that the customized SIMs will be exclusively used for UTME registration and will be accessible to parents with a validity of five years. Prof. Oloyede expressed confidence that this measure will resolve many of the problems associated with candidates' registration.

Additionally, the Registrar emphasized JAMB's commitment to improving the UTME registration process, making it more seamless, flexible, and user-friendly through the use of advanced technology.
