Kaduna State University Celebrates 20th Anniversary, Honors Key Contributors

Kaduna State University (KASU) marked a significant milestone on Saturday, December 14, 2024, as it celebrated its 20th anniversary. The event brought together dignitaries, alumni, and students to commemorate two decades of academic excellence and growth.

 

The Governor of Kaduna State, His Excellency Senator Uba Sani, was represented by the Honorable Commissioner of Education. The governor's administration was praised for its commitment to education, particularly in securing the CBN intervention project to build the Faculty of Engineering at the KASU Permanent Site.

 

The reduction of tuition fees by 30% for all tertiary institutions in the state was also commended, making education more accessible and affordable for countless students.

Senator Ahmed Mohamed Makarfi, the founding father of KASU, delivered a keynote speech, highlighting the vision and hard work that went into establishing the institution. Former Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero was also in attendance, and his continuous support for the university was acknowledged.

 

The event also recognized the contributions of former Vice Chancellors, pioneering lecturers, and government officials, including Hon. Abubakar Buba, Commissioner of Environment and Natural Resources, and Prof. Sani Bashir Bello, Commissioner of Education.

As a token of appreciation, the "Senator Uba Sani Students Garden Kaduna State University" was announced, an initiative endorsed by the Honorable Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources.
