KASU Secures World Bank ACreSAL Grant for Greenhouse Development

Kaduna State University (KASU) has secured a grant from the World Bank's Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) project to develop greenhouses. This initiative aims to promote sustainable agricultural practices and enhance food security in the region .

 

The ACReSAL project, which is being implemented in 19 states in northern Nigeria, focuses on addressing land degradation and climate change. The project has four key components, including strategic watershed planning, landscape investments, dryland management, and special ecosystem management .

The grant will be utilized to establish two greenhouses, one at the New Campus and the other at the Kafanchan Campus of KASU. These greenhouses will serve as practical experimentation sites, integrating sustainability into the curriculum and fostering environmental consciousness among students and faculty members .
