Katsina Governor Seeks TETFund's Assistance to Combat Insecurity in Tertiary Institutions

Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State has appealed to the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) for support in addressing the security challenges plaguing tertiary institutions in the state.

During a visit to TETFund's office in Abuja on Monday, Governor Radda emphasized the urgent need for enhanced security measures in educational institutions amidst rising insecurity, which has led to the abduction of several students.

Expressing gratitude to the Federal Government for its interventions, Governor Radda highlighted the economic hardships faced by states, particularly in the Northern region, including currency depreciation and high food prices, exacerbating the security situation.

Governor Radda outlined the state's plans to convert its ICT institution into a university of technology and stressed the importance of TETFund's support in providing essential infrastructure to ensure student safety.

In response, the Executive Secretary of TETFund, Sonny Echono, acknowledged the severity of the security challenges, assuring Governor Radda of the fund's commitment to addressing them by prioritizing the allocation of necessary infrastructure.
