Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University Moves to Partner Abdullahi Mai Masallaci Foundation

The management of Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano (KHAIRUN), has initiated moves for a strategic partnership with the Abdullahi Mai Masallaci Foundation as part of efforts to expand institutional collaboration and community development initiatives.

The management of Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano (KHAIRUN), has initiated moves for a strategic partnership with the Abdullahi Mai Masallaci Foundation as part of efforts to expand institutional collaboration and community development initiatives.

The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Abdulrashid Garba, led the university delegation on a courtesy visit to the foundation on Saturday, April 25, 2026.

Speaking during the meeting, the Managing Director of the Foundation, Dr. Kabiru Uba Ibrahim, welcomed the delegation and commended the university for seeking collaboration with the organisation.

He gave an overview of the foundation’s activities and highlighted the legacy of the late Alhaji Uba Ibrahim Ringim, noting that the organisation remains committed to educational advancement and community service.

Dr. Ibrahim appealed for KHAIRUN’s support in upgrading the foundation’s Waqf Library from an analogue structure to a modern digital and automated library system.

He also proposed the establishment of a training centre within the foundation using existing classrooms and facilities to promote learning and capacity development.

According to him, the foundation is prepared to formalize the partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at ensuring long term collaboration between both institutions.

Responding, Prof. Abdulrashid Garba expressed appreciation for the reception accorded to the university delegation and described the engagement as an opportunity to revive the longstanding relationship between the families of the late Khalifa Sheikh Isyaku Rabiu and the late Alhaji Uba Ibrahim Ringim.

The Vice-Chancellor highlighted KHAIRUN’s growth and achievements, stating that the institution remains committed to partnerships capable of driving academic and community development.

He also disclosed that work on a draft Memorandum of Understanding would begin immediately, with plans to commence the process by Monday.
