Professor Paul Long, a microbiologist who led a delegation from King’s College to ESUT, emphasized the importance of international collaboration in knowledge transfer. He highlighted King’s College's commitment to global engagement and giving back to communities worldwide. This initiative seeks to enable students to acquire knowledge that they can subsequently apply and share with their parent institutions. The partnership also involves supporting a staff member from ESUT's Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Theodora Mbah, who has gained admission to study at King’s College. Supervisors accompanying Professor Long will assist Ms. Mbah in identifying local materials for her research work in London.

ESUT's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Aloysius-Michaels Okolie, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration. He assured the delegation from King’s College that ESUT, as a science-driven university, is open to research collaborations with global institutions, aiming to foster scholarship among staff and students. As part of his speech, Professor Okolie stressed the importance of mutually beneficial research collaborations. He also highlighted the unexplored research opportunities at ESUT, expressing confidence that research conducted in partnership with King’s College would yield significant breakthroughs.

Furthermore, Ambrose Ugwu, the ESUT Registrar, conveyed his delight about the collaboration and encouraged Ms. Mba, who will pursue her Ph.D. studies at King’s College London, to be a good ambassador for ESUT. The partnership between ESUT and King’s College, London, holds great promise for advancing research, knowledge transfer, and scholarship at both institutions. It reflects their shared commitment to global engagement, academic excellence, and the development of the academic community. The event saw the participation of all principal officers of ESUT, including the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Anthony Attamah, and other faculty members, demonstrating the widespread support for this collaboration within the university.
