KIU Vice-Chancellor Receives NUBOSS and NACOS Delegations, Commends Student Innovations and Debate Laurels

The National Union of Borno State Students (NUBOSS), in collaboration with the National Association of Computing Students (NACOS), paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of Kashim Ibrahim University (KIU), Professor Babagana Gutti.

Speaking during the visit, the President of NUBOSS, Comrade Adamu Kirawa, said the delegation was at the Vice-Chancellor's office to present students of the university who recently emerged as winners in an inter-institutional debate competition held in Borno State.

Comrade Kirawa explained that the delegation was also at the university management's office to showcase a newly developed digital platform created by the institution's computing students.

According to him, one KIU student secured third position in the public speaking category, while two students emerged as runners-up in the debate competition.

He further revealed that the platform, named KIU-Explora, was developed by computing students in collaboration with staff of the university's ICT Unit, particularly Adamu Ngoshe.

He noted that the portal contains several useful features designed to enhance students' access to information and academic services.

In his response, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Babagana Gutti, welcomed the delegation and congratulated the students on their achievements.

"I am happy and proud of your accomplishments. You are working smart because these are innovative activities that demonstrate creativity and excellence," he said.

Professor Gutti noted that technology continues to make life easier and disclosed that the university is exploring the possibility of integrating lecture and examination timetables into the KIU-Explora platform in the near future.

He described the initiative as a clear demonstration of teamwork and innovation, adding that the university would continue to identify and support capable students to further develop 

the platform.

"The beauty of this project lies in teamwork and collaboration. Through KIU-Explora, we will continue to engage talented students and work together to improve the system.

I sincerely appreciate your efforts and congratulate all of you on this achievement," Professor Gutti stated.
