According to reports, KWASU began its Law programme in 2018 with approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) but without clearance from the CLE. The CLE's sanction led to JAMB enforcing a one-year suspension on Law admissions for the 2025/2026 session.

Despite the suspension, KWASU has assured that all other academic programmes remain accredited and open for prospective students. The university currently holds full accreditation from both the NUC and CLE, offering two undergraduate Law programmes: *Common Law* and *Common and Islamic Law .

KWASU has expressed its respect for the CLE's decision and will not offer Law admissions for the 2025/2026 academic session .

This development comes as JAMB also announced the suspension of Law admissions in seven other universities, including Bingham University, Redeemers University, and Western Delta University, among others .
