KWASU celebrates appointment of governing council, Ag. VC commends Governor
The Kwara State University Community has received the news of the constitution of a new governing council for the institution with joy.
The acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, who described the constitution of the council as welcome, added that the appointment of former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Professor Abdul Ganiyu Ambali as the Chairman was a most worthy choice.
Professor Luqman noted that the council, which is made up of academics and administrators with experience in university administration, would propel the institution to greater heights.
He added that the members of the council who are persons of integrity and who have displayed commitment to the Kwara agenda also have track records of commitment to quality education for the teeming populace of the State.
Professor Luqman who lauded the Visitor to the University and Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON, for constantly putting the interest of the institution foremost in his actions, stated that the choice of the governing council exemplified how the governor always put qualified persons in places where they would bring their wealth of experience to bear.
It would be recalled that the Chief Press Secretary to the Kwara State Governor, Mallam Rafiu Ajakaiye in a press release announced the constitution of the new governing council to be chaired by former Vice Chancellor of University of Ilorin, Professor Abdul Ganiyu Ambali.
The other members are Professor Ibrahim Jawondo; Professor Aishetu Abdulkadir; Barrister Teju Oguntoye; Abdullahi Biogera; and, Daudu Funmilayo Maryam representing the host community and the youth constituency.
