KWASU Vice-Chancellor Announces Plans to Enhance Teaching Facilities in Anticipation of Student Growth

 Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, Vice-Chancellor of Kwara State University (KWASU), has revealed plans to significantly upgrade the university’s teaching and learning facilities in preparation for an anticipated increase in student enrollment for the next academic year. The announcement came during his official visit to the Faculties of Education and Engineering and Technology on Thursday, August 29, 2024.

Professor Jimoh, who praised the staff of both faculties for their commitment to the institution's vision and their successful integration of new courses, emphasized the importance of innovation and development in advancing KWASU’s educational goals. He encouraged faculty members to propose new ideas that could further enhance the university's impact on both its students and the broader community.

Addressing specific requests made by the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Professor Ibrahim Laaro Abubakar, Professor Jimoh acknowledged the need for additional lecture theaters and staff offices. This request comes in light of the recent accreditation of 13 new courses within the Faculty of Education, which has expanded the faculty’s academic offerings and necessitated improved infrastructure.

In the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Dean Professor Bilyamin Adeoye Ibitoye highlighted the imminent launch of a new Mining Engineering department. This development reflects the faculty’s ongoing efforts to expand its academic programs and provide students with cutting-edge educational opportunities.

The Vice-Chancellor’s visit underscored KWASU’s commitment to enhancing its educational environment to support its growing student population.
