The University of Lagos (UNILAG) recently received assurance from the Lagos State Police Command regarding increased security measures for the university and its surrounding areas. Commissioner Adegoke Mustapha Fayoade committed to bolstering police activities to ensure the safety of lives and protection of UNILAG's assets both on and off-campus.

The visit, led by UNILAG's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Folasade Ogunsola, aimed to strengthen the town-and-gown relationship while addressing security concerns. During the meeting, CP Fayoade lauded UNILAG's management for fostering a strong partnership with the police over the years, emphasizing the university's esteemed reputation.

The Vice-Chancellor also highlighted UNILAG's zero-tolerance policy towards illicit drugs and substances, seeking increased surveillance along the lagoon front to prevent burglary incidents. Additionally, plans to integrate high-ranking police officers into UNILAG's faculty, particularly in Law and Social Sciences disciplines, were discussed to enhance curriculum delivery and security collaboration. This commitment underscores UNILAG's proactive approach to safety and community engagement.
