Lagos State University Hosts University of Chicago Students on Exchange Programme
Lagos State University (LASU) has welcomed two students from the University of Chicago, Ayush Gupta and Gargi Mishra, who are currently on an exchange programme at the university.
The students were formally received by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, at her office.
The exchange programme is part of a tripartite partnership between the University of Chicago, Lagos State University, and the University of Ibadan. The students will undergo a 10-week academic and cultural immersion in Nigeria, during which they will engage with staff and students of the Faculty of Computing and Information Science.
The Dean of the Faculty of Computing and Information Science, Professor Benjamin Aribisala, explained that the collaboration aims to advance research and foster international academic partnerships. He noted that the relationship between the institutions started in 2018.
The Vice-Chancellor warmly welcomed the students, assuring them of a conducive learning environment and opportunities to immerse themselves in Nigerian culture. She encouraged them to make the most of their stay, academically and culturally.
The students expressed excitement at being at LASU and promised to learn as much as they could from the university. The meeting was attended by members of university management, senior officials, and staff of the Faculty of Computing and Information Science.
