LASU Best Law Graduand Toheeb Alimi Wins Prestigious ₦1M BOSAN Scholarship

Toheeb Omotayo Alimi, the Best Graduating Student in the Faculty of Law at Lagos State University (LASU) for the 2024/2025 session, has been named a recipient of the 2025 Body of Senior Advocates of Nigeria (BOSAN) Scholarship.

The scholarship, valued at one million naira (₦1,000,000), is a highly competitive national award designed to identify and support the most promising legal minds in Nigeria. Alimi’s selection follows a rigorous screening process that evaluates academic excellence, character, and professional integrity.

The Body of Senior Advocates of Nigeria (BOSAN) instituted this scheme to address declining standards in legal education. The award will be disbursed to Alimi in two strategic phases:

₦500,000 to support his final undergraduate requirements.

₦500,000 for his tuition and expenses at the Nigerian Law School.

Beyond the financial grant, Alimi officially earns the title of "BOSAN Scholar," a prestigious distinction that provides a significant career advantage within the Nigerian legal profession.

The formal presentation will take place during the 50th Anniversary Dinner of the Conferment of the Rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Harbour Point, Victoria Island.

The Vice-Chancellor of LASU, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, congratulated Alimi on the feat, noting that his achievement reaffirms LASU’s position as a premier destination for top-tier legal training in Africa.

BOSAN maintains a zero-tolerance policy for mediocrity; the scholarship is subject to immediate withdrawal should the recipient fail to maintain the high academic and ethical standards required by the Body. Alimi’s success serves as a testament to the discipline and quality fostered within the LASU Faculty of Law.
