LASU Debate Society Pays Courtesy Visit to Vice Chancellor, Showcases Awards
The LASU Debate Society visited the Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, on July 1, 2024, to showcase their recent awards and achievements.
The LASU Debate Society paid a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU), Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, at her office on the 6th floor of the Babatunde Raji Fashola Senate Building, Ojo Campus. Representing the Vice Chancellor, Deputy Vice Chancellor of Administration, Prof. Omotunde Adenike Boyo, welcomed the team and praised their achievements, urging them to increase awareness about the society to attract more students.

The president of the LASU Debate Society, Seide Agosu, highlighted the society's core values of communication, leadership, and excellence. She emphasized that the society aims to train students in public speaking, writing, and preparation for global competitions.
During the visit, the society presented several awards they have recently won, including the Hon. Justice Innocent Umuezulike Foundation National Debate Competition award, the Jaw War Nationals Award, and the Lead City Voices Intervarsity Debate Award. They also invited the Vice Chancellor and other university management members to their upcoming signature event, ‘Listen’, scheduled for Wednesday, July 10, 2024.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor, accompanied by senior administration members, expressed pride in the students' accomplishments and reiterated the university’s support for their initiatives.
