Lagos State University (LASU) has announced the commencement of applications for its Pre-Degree Studies (PDS) Programme for the 2024/2025 academic session, starting in October 2024 at the Epe Campus.

LASU has commenced the sale of application forms for its Pre-Degree Studies (PDS) Programme for the 2024/2025 academic session, slated to begin in October 2024. The programme, located at LASU's Epe Campus, is designed to prepare candidates with deficiencies in their O’Level results for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and subsequent admission into 100 Level Degree programmes at LASU.

The LASU PDS Programme runs for one academic session, from October 2024 to September 2025. It offers intensive coaching in subjects including Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Government, Economics, Literature in English, Christian Religious Studies (CRS), Islamic Religious Studies (IRS), and Accounting.

Candidates must possess at least three credits in relevant subjects at not more than two sittings in SSCE, GCE, or NECO. Eligible candidates will undergo a qualifying examination as part of the admission process.

To transition to 100 Level, candidates must sit for UTME, meet the JAMB Cut Off Mark, and pass the University Screening Test. Candidates with deficient O’Level results are required to register for and pass the necessary subjects in WAEC or NECO.

Prospective candidates are to visit lasu.edu.ng to make a payment of Fifteen Thousand Naira (N15,000:00) and proceed with online registration via the LASU PDS Application Portal. The application deadline is ten weeks from the date of this publication.

Despite the general challenges in the 2024 UTME, LASU PDS candidates achieved a remarkable success rate, with 79.7% scoring 200 and above, attributing their success to rigorous teaching and Computer-Based Test (CBT) practice.

The programme is residential, and admitted candidates will be accommodated at LASU's Epe Campus.
