LASU PhD Student Mr. Oluwatobi Idowu Appointed Senior Special Assistant to Lagos Governor on Transportation

Lagos State University (LASU) has congratulated its PhD student, Mr. Oluwatobi Idowu, on his appointment as Senior Special Assistant to Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu on Transportation.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, described the appointment as a significant achievement, highlighting the university's production of world-class professionals.

Mr. Idowu's appointment underscores Governor Sanwo-Olu's focus on empowering young professionals and fostering inclusive governance. As Senior Special Assistant on Transportation, Mr. Idowu will address urban mobility challenges and implement innovative solutions to enhance Lagos State's transportation infrastructure. Prior to this appointment, he served as Executive Assistant to the Special Adviser on Transportation, providing technical and administrative support.

A former student leader at LASU, Mr. Idowu is a recognized thought leader in governance and institutional reform. During his undergraduate studies, he was actively involved in student unionism, notably serving as Chairman of the Independent Electoral Committee in 2016. His leadership during the electoral process earned him a formal letter of commendation from the university management.

The Vice-Chancellor commended Mr. Idowu for his dedication and excellence, expressing confidence that he will make meaningful contributions in his new role.
