The Lagos State University (LASU) is hosting the facilities inspection team from the Federation of African University Sports (FASU) and the Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA) as they assess the sports amenities ahead of the 11th All Africa University Games, tagged Lagos 2024. This event marks a significant step in ensuring the university’s preparedness to host the prestigious continental sports event.

The Vice-Chancellor of LASU, Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, warmly welcomed the committee on behalf of the entire LASU community. She expressed the university’s enthusiasm and readiness to collaborate with FASU and NUGA to deliver a successful and memorable sporting event.

“The Lagos State University is honored to host the inspection team and demonstrate our state-of-the-art facilities. We are committed to providing an excellent environment for athletes across Africa to compete and excel. This visit is pivotal in our preparation for the All Africa University Games,” stated Professor Olatunji-Bello.

The inspection visit, scheduled for June 12 and 13, 2024, involves a comprehensive review of LASU’s sports infrastructure, including the stadium, swimming pools, gymnasiums, and other ancillary facilities. The FASU and NUGA officials will assess the readiness of these facilities to host various sports disciplines that will feature in the games.
