A Nigerian man Otto Orondaam has rejoiced over a young girl he picked from the slums and gave a new lease of life who is set to proceed to the university for further education.
Myschoolnews reports Otto is the founder of the slums2school initiative; an initiative to ensure many children who live in the slums without access to quality education are given another shot at a good life through quality education.
Otto narrated how he met the said girl, Sisianu ten years and eight-months ago at Makoko, a slum in Lagos state paddling a big boat on her way to sell smoked fish for her mother; on closer examination he noticed the girl was out of school but had a strong desire for education, prompting Otto's interest in her.
The journey was however not rosy as Otto in a twitter thread revealed how sisianu earlier failed a scholarship examination prompting him to start paying school fees of N1m per annum for the said girl; a decision that has paid off as the girl just rounded off her NECO examinations and is set to further her education.
