MOUAU Vice Chancellor: Lack of Governing Council Stalls Promotions and Appointments

The Vice Chancellor of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU), Professor Maduebibisi Iwe, has lamented the negative effects of the university's lack of a governing council.
Speaking at the Senator Pius Anyim auditorium during the revalidation of Dr. Obasi Igwe Oscar as the Alumni representative in the governing council, Iwe noted that the absence of the council has hindered appointments, promotions, and other developmental activities.

The Vice Chancellor praised the contributions of the Obasi-led MOUAU Alumni to the university's progress and confirmed that the current council representatives would serve out their four-year tenure. Dr. Obasi Igwe Oscar expressed gratitude for the confidence placed in him and assured the university of his commitment.
He also appreciated Professor Iwe for his academic leadership and support to the Alumni body, which is contributing to the construction of a 1000-seater lecture theatre to enhance teaching and learning.
