The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in Benin Republic has reassured Nigerian students studying in the West African country regarding the validity of their degrees amidst the suspension of degree certificates from Benin Republic, Togo, and other countries.

In a statement issued by the President of NANS, Ikenna Favour, the association urged students to disregard fake news and emphasized the legitimacy of degrees obtained from universities in Benin Republic.

NANS Benin President encouraged students to remain focused on their education and assured them of ongoing thorough investigations into the matter. The association is actively collaborating with the Nigerian Embassy in Benin, university management, lecturers, and stakeholders to provide assistance and guidance to Nigerian students.

A committee has been inaugurated by the Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, to address the issues raised by the investigative report and propose solutions.

The statement aims to allay concerns among Nigerian students and provide reassurance regarding the recognition, validity, and respect of degrees obtained from institutions in Benin Republic.
