The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has issued a plea to the Federal Government, urging immediate intervention to cease the ongoing assaults on Tantita Security Services personnel in Ondo State.

In a statement released by Sen. Akinteye Afeez Babatunde, the President of the Senate of NANS, on Wednesday, the student body emphasized the necessity for decisive government action.

Under the leadership of Senior High Chief Idowu Asonja, Tantita Security has effectively collaborated with various security agencies, resulting in significant achievements in apprehending oil theft perpetrators and dismantling illegal refineries.

However, these commendable efforts have been met with fierce resistance, leading to a distressing incident on February 9, 2024. Armed individuals, clad in security uniforms, stormed Tantita Security's office in Agadagba, causing substantial damage and issuing threats against Chief Asonja.

NANS expressed deep concern over these acts of intimidation, which not only endanger Chief Asonja's safety but also undermine Tantita Security's vital role in ensuring security along Ondo State's waterways.
