Nasarawa State University Partners with UNDP to Establish Innovation Hub

Nasarawa State University (NSUK) has entered into a partnership with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) to establish a hub for innovation and problem-solving in the mining sector.

The partnership aims to create a Centre of Excellence and Innovation in the mining sector, leveraging Nasarawa State's strategic position in solid mineral mining.

The Vice-Chancellor of NSUK, Professor Sa'adatu Hassan Liman, received the UNDP team led by Claire Henshaw, Team Leader of UNDP's Centre for Innovation and Excellence (Unipod), on June 13, 2024. Professor Liman assured the UNDP team of the university's readiness to support the initiative, which will benefit the development of the mining sector in Nasarawa State and the Department of Geology and Mining.

The partnership will provide students in the Department of Geology and Mining with valuable opportunities for innovation and skill development. The university is among the first beneficiaries of the program and looks forward to a fruitful collaboration with Unipod.
