Nigeria, Ghana to Make Historic Debut at U.S. Scripps National Spelling Bee

Young Educators Foundation has announced that Nigeria and Ghana will represent Africa at the prestigious Scripps National Spelling Bee, scheduled to take place in the U.S. in 2025.
Eugenia Tachie-Menson, CEO of the foundation, made this known in a statement on Thursday, highlighting Ghana's longstanding participation and Nigeria's debut facilitated through collaboration with the Lucid Education Initiative.

Previously, the 2024 competition featured 245 participants from the U.S., Europe, Ghana, and Canada, with spellers challenged to spell words within strict time limits.
