NDA Refutes Allegations of Portal Closure, Reaffirms Transparency in 78 Regular Course Admission Process

The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has dismissed reports alleging premature closure of its admission portal and exclusion of some applicants from the 78 Regular Course screening process, describing the claims as misleading and inaccurate.

In a formal statement, the Academy said its attention was drawn to media reports suggesting that prospective candidates were unable to complete registration due to alleged inaccessibility of the admission portal shortly after opening.

The NDA clarified that the application portal for the 78 Regular Course officially opened on 28 November 2025 and closed on 30 April 2026, with a subsequent extension granted to 15 May 2026 in line with its approved admission schedule. It maintained that the portal remained fully accessible throughout the application window.

The institution further explained that candidates who scored 180 and above in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and selected NDA as their first-choice institution were duly notified via email on 19 May 2026 to register for the screening test, with a deadline of 24 May 2026.

According to the Academy, all application procedures, timelines, and requirements were consistently communicated through official channels, including its website, application portal (www.ndaapplications.net), verified social media platforms, and direct email notifications to candidates.

The NDA also stated that applicants were given sufficient time to complete essential steps such as generating Remita Retrieval References (RRRs), paying application fees, and submitting completed forms. It added that reminders and updates were repeatedly issued throughout the application period.

Responding to claims of preferential treatment or leakage of admission information, the Academy described such allegations as entirely unfounded, stressing that its admission process remains strictly merit-based, transparent, and uniformly applied to all eligible candidates.

The statement emphasized that only candidates who completed all registration requirements within the stipulated timeframe will be eligible for the NDA Screening Test scheduled for 20 June 2026.

Reaffirming its commitment to fairness and institutional integrity, the NDA urged the public to disregard unofficial narratives and rely solely on verified communication from its official platforms.

The statement was signed by Major Reuben Kovangiya, Academy Public Relations Officer.
