NEW NDLEA Commander Visits BOSU- Calls For Synergy In Fight Against Drug Abuse

 

The new NDLEA Commander in BORNO State, Commander of Narcotic Iliyasu Mamman Mani, has called for synergy with BOSU and well meaning individuals in the fight against drugs and substance abuse by some Nigerians, especially youth. 

 

The commander laments that of the over 600 suspects arrested in the state from July when he assumes duty to date,75-80℅ we're youth and adolescents and appeals for concerted

efforts by leadership of institutions on one hand and by all and sundry to check the menace.

He identified areas of cooperation to include, provision of an office in the school premises for his men, organize periodic lecture on drugs and substance abuse for individual Faculties or Departments and pre- resumption and pre-registration drug test on returning and new students. 

 

VC BOSU, Professor Umar Kyari Sandabe thanked the commander for the visit and suggestions and said they would all be considered without delay. 

 

He said BOSU has been cooperating with NDLEA since its establishment and assured that the University's Drug Free Club will be strengthened and made more responsive in the fight against drug and substance abuse.
