Newgate College of Health Pen-on-Paper Phase of National Professional Examination Commences Successfully
Following the conclusion of the Clinical Practicals yesterday, the 2025 National Professional Examination for the Public Health Technician and National Diploma in Community Health departments has today entered its second phase — the pen-on-paper assessments.
The written examinations commenced smoothly under the supervision of officials from the Council of Health Assistants/Technicians & Public Health of Nigeria, together with College authorities, who monitored proceedings to ensure strict compliance with professional and examination standards.
This stage of the examination is designed to rigorously evaluate the students’ theoretical knowledge, complementing the practical competencies already demonstrated during the Clinical Practicals. The combination of both phases ensures that successful candidates emerge as well-rounded professionals, competent both in skill and in knowledge.
Speaking at the commencement, the Heads of Department commended the dedication of the students and encouraged them to remain focused. They expressed confidence that the candidates would perform excellently and sustain the College’s outstanding record in national examinations.
The National Professional Examination remains a vital step in the professional journey of the students, as success not only crowns years of academic and practical training but also qualifies them for the award of their professional licences. These licences grant them the authority to practice as Public Health Technicians and Community Health professionals across Nigeria, serving communities and contributing meaningfully to the health sector.
The pen-on-paper assessments will continue until Friday, after which the 2025 National Professional Examination will be formally concluded.
