Nigerian Engineer Excels with First-Class Degree from Imperial College London

Mervin Azeta, a Nigerian engineer, has achieved significant success by graduating with a first-class degree in Chemical Engineering and Reservoir Engineering. Azeta, now a Lead Engineer at Schlumberger, shared her journey on LinkedIn, emphasizing the challenges she faced as a woman in engineering.
Azeta earned her bachelor's degree with first-class honors from the University of Benin in Nigeria, majoring in Chemical Engineering and minoring in Reservoir Engineering. She later obtained a Master's degree with Distinction from Imperial College London.

Azeta's inspiration to become an engineer began at age eight after witnessing her pregnant aunt's death due to a power outage. This tragic event motivated her to solve societal problems through engineering.
Celebrating National Engineering Day in the UK, Azeta reaffirmed her commitment to addressing energy challenges in Nigeria and beyond. "I chose to be an engineer to solve the energy challenges of Nigeria, Africa, and the world at large," she stated.
Azeta was recently recognized as an Emerging Alumni Leader by Imperial College London. She continues to inspire and mentor young women, advocating for gender equality in STEM fields.
