Nigerian Student Recognized by British Council for Academic Excellence, Bags Highest Score in Sociology

Adegbigbe Temilola, a Nigerian student, has been honored by the British Council for her exceptional performance in the 2023 International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE).

Temilola achieved the highest score in Sociology, earning her a place among the top students recognized by the British Council Recognition and Outstanding Cambridge Learner Award (BROCLA).

The BROCLA is an initiative that celebrates Nigerian students who excel in Cambridge exams. This year, among the outstanding students recognized was Adedigba Michelle Temilola, a student at Caleb British International School for her exceptional performance in Sociology at the 2023 IGCSE.

Abimbola Olulesi, the head of public relations at Caleb Group of Schools, confirmed Temilola’s achievement. “Temilola’s achievement has been acknowledged by both the British Council and Cambridge Assessment International Education,” Olulesi said. She further revealed that Adedigba Michelle will be presented with her award in Sociology for coming tops at the Cambridge IGCSE 2023 at an impressive ceremony in July at the Grand Banquet Hall, Civic Center, Lagos.

Mrs. Omoluabi-Okechukwu, the principal of Caleb British International School, attributed Temilola’s success to the school’s curriculum, which integrates elements from both the British and Nigerian education systems. “Caleb British International School is committed to academic excellence, moral instruction, and character development,” she emphasized.

She affirmed that the success recorded by Adedigba Michelle Temilola is a vindication of the school’s emphasis on providing every student with a well-rounded education. “We focus on core subjects while also emphasizing the development of essential life skills,” she added.
