- Telecommunication Engineering Technology
This partnership was formalized during a courtesy visit to NOUN's Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olufemi Peters, by representatives from DBI on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at the university's headquarters in Abuja. During the meeting, DBI submitted a proposal for collaboration, leading to the mutual agreement to launch these diploma programmes, as noted in a memo signed by Mr. Adefemi Oyedipe, Deputy Registrar in the Vice-Chancellor’s office.
According to the memo, the diploma programmes will be offered through a blended learning approach, combining online courses with in-person sessions at both NOUN and DBI centres. This innovative structure aims to provide flexible learning opportunities that cater to a diverse range of students.
To facilitate the development of the programmes, a committee has been established to oversee their implementation, focusing on the development of the Online Programme Platform (OPP) and Diploma Programme Platform (DPP). The committee will be chaired by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Teaching and Research, Prof. Godwin Akper. Other members include:
- Prof. Gregory Okagbare (Director, DAP)
- Prof. Grace Jokthan (Director, ACETEL)
- Dr. Greg Onwodi (Ag. Dean, Faculty of Computer)
- The NOUN Registrar
This partnership signifies a significant step forward in enhancing Nigeria's educational landscape, particularly in the fields of technology and engineering.
