NSUK Cancels All Student Assemblies to Ensure Campus Peace During Exams
Nasarawa State University has suspended all student gatherings, including graduation celebrations, to maintain order amid concerns over potential unrest during exams.
Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), has announced the cancellation of all student assemblies, including graduation celebrations, as part of its efforts to maintain peace and stability on campus. This decision, conveyed by Dr. Yahaya Mohammed, Dean of Students' Affairs, follows concerns about potential unrest during the ongoing exam period.
In a statement addressed to the student body, Dr. Mohammed commended law-abiding students for upholding peace and encouraged them to continue abiding by university rules. He reassured students that efforts by disruptive elements to create chaos and disorder would not succeed.
To further ensure a peaceful environment, the university's security unit has been placed on high alert to enforce this directive. Students have been advised to comply with the management’s instructions and refrain from participating in any celebrations or gatherings until the situation stabilizes.
The message, copied to the Vice Chancellor, Deputy Vice Chancellors (Academic and Admin), Chief Security Officer, and Deans of Faculties, urges students to focus on completing their exams and returning home to their families in a safe and peaceful manner.
"Thank you and remain blessed," the message concludes.
The university community is encouraged to cooperate with the management in maintaining peace and stability during this critical period.
