In a remarkable turn of events, the Acting Rector of the Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas (FPOG), Bonny, Dr. Victor Okolobah, has facilitated the recall and reinstatement of previously disengaged staff members as part of his commitment to fostering harmony and resolving disputes within the institution.
Dr. Okolobah, drawing from his extensive experience as a former Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), Federal Polytechnic Bida Chapter, and a member of ASUP's National Executive Council, has successfully addressed lingering labor and industrial crises that had plagued the institution. These disputes, some of which escalated into litigation, had hindered the polytechnic's growth and disrupted its activities.
The reinstated staff members, including Owunabo Alawari, Francis Adedoyin, Orupabo Nengi, and Abbey John S., can now resume their duties following amicable resolutions facilitated by the Rector’s leadership.
This development also marks the resolution of various legal disputes that had tarnished the institution's reputation. The Acting Rector’s leadership has been lauded for its pragmatic and visionary approach, aimed at transforming FPOG Bonny into a globally recognized center of excellence in oil and gas education.
