NSUK Champions Study of Islamic Finance, Collaborates With International Islamic University Malaysia

In a bid to foster academic collaboration and enhance the development of Islamic Finance scholarship, the Vice-Chancellor  Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Professor Sa'adatu Hassan Liman and the leadership of International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster partnership focusing on collaboration in research and the running of Islamic Finance programmes.

The MoU signing ceremony which took place at Langkawi Island, Malaysia is on the sidelines of the 2nd International Conference on Islamic Financial Literacy organised by the International Islamic University Malaysia holding from the 2nd to 3rd October, 2024 at Adyan Hotel, Langkawi Island, Malaysia

The signing of the MoU between Nasarawa State University, Keffi, and the International Islamic University Malaysia marks a new chapter in the academic collaboration between the two institutions, it is also seen as a pivotal step toward advancing knowledge in the field of Islamic Finance, particularly in North Central Nigeria.

The partnership between the two renowned citadels of learning will not only enhance research and educational offerings in Islamic Finance but also contribute to the economic development of Nigeria by producing skilled professionals equipped to lead the Islamic Finance sector. 

Both institutions are optimistic that this collaboration will yield significant academic and professional outcomes that will benefit both Nigeria and Malaysia in the long run.

The Nasarawa State University Keffi delegation was led by the Vice Chancellor Professor Sa'adatu Hassan Liman and was accompanied by the Director, Academic of Planning, Professor Abdullahi Adamu Sulaiman, a senior lecturer in the Department of Islamic and Development Studies, Associate Professor Muhammad Alhasan Yunus,  Professor Rashidah Funke Olarinwaju, and Associate Professor Yusuf Alhaji Usman.
