NSUK Jose Centino Centre Receives Global Recognition
Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), has gained global recognition for its Jose A. Centino International Centre for Medical Geology Research, receiving commendation at the FEMTEC Congress in Romania.
Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), has achieved a significant milestone, receiving global recognition for the establishment of the Jose A. Centino International Centre for Medical Geology Research (JACMEDGEO). The university was commended for its pioneering efforts during the 75th General Assembly and Scientific Congress of the World Federation of Hydrotherapy and Climatotherapy (FEMTEC), currently taking place in Bran, Romania.
The award was received on behalf of NSUK by Dr. K'tso Ngharbu, the Director of the Centre and Director of Linkages and International Cooperation. Dr. K'tso dedicated the award to the University Senate, whose vision and commitment led to the Centre’s creation, positioning NSUK as the first institution globally to offer a specialized degree in Medical Geology.
Dr. K'tso expressed gratitude towards the International Medical Geology Association (IMGA) and the Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society (NMGS) for their unwavering support, which has been crucial in realizing the Centre’s objectives.
The establishment of JACMEDGEO signifies NSUK’s commitment to advancing research in Medical Geology, an emerging field with critical implications for public health and environmental science.
