NUC Approves UCH Ibadan for Bachelor of Nursing Science Degree Programme

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted approval to the School of Nursing, University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, to commence a Bachelor of Nursing Science (B.NSc) degree programme in affiliation with the University of Ibadan (UI).

The programme combines world-class clinical training, university-standard academic curriculum, and hands-on practical exposure within Nigeria's premier teaching hospital. This development is expected to enhance nursing training and produce professionals meeting global standards in patient care, research, and health leadership.

UCH's Principal of the School of Nursing, Dr. Adenike Olaniyi, described the achievement as "a dream fulfilled," while the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo, noted that the programme will strengthen the link between medical education, clinical practice, and healthcare innovation [1].
