Medical workers at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital (OAUTH) in Ile-Ife, Osun State, have expressed distress over the non-payment of salaries for over 10 months. Some employees revealed they have been forced to beg for sustenance as the prolonged salary arrears have plunged them into financial hardship.

Efforts to address their concerns have reportedly been unsuccessful, prompting an appeal to relevant authorities for assistance. The Chief Medical Director of OAUTH, John Okeniyi, directed inquiries to a tweet by the Minister for Health, Muhammed Pate, indicating that an investigation had been completed, and the issue would be resolved soon.
