NUC Visits NOUN Enugu Centre for Accreditation of Public Administration Program
The NOUN delegation comprised Prof. Ali S.Y. Bagah, Head of Department for Public Administration, Mrs. Florence Okeke, Deputy Registrar of DAP, and Mr. Emeka Don-Onu, Deputy Director of Protocol.
A high-powered team from the National Universities Commission (NUC) visited the Enugu Study Centre of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, to carry out the accreditation exercise for the university’s B.Sc. Public Administration program under the Faculty of Management Sciences.

The accreditation team, led by Prof. Adegba O. Sunday, included Prof. Kontein Trinya, panelist (ODL), Prof. Ahmadu Hamman, a member, and Mrs. Loveth Peter Eze, the NUC representative. The NOUN delegation comprised Prof. Ali S.Y. Bagah, Head of Department for Public Administration, Mrs. Florence Okeke, Deputy Registrar of DAP, and Mr. Emeka Don-Onu, Deputy Director of Protocol.
Upon arrival, the team was warmly welcomed by the centre director, Prof. Charity Akuadi Okonkwo, who led them on a tour of the centre’s facilities. The team expressed satisfaction with their interactions across various units, including the Counseling Unit, Store Unit, Information, Advice & Guidance Unit, South-East Incubation Centre, and General Counseling Unit.
Particularly notable was the e-exams hall, where the team praised the availability of 297 functional computer systems, exceeding the required specifications. They also commended the centre’s updated books and journals at the physical library and appreciated the demonstration of the e-library’s database system, led by Dr. Mercy E. Okwoli. The highlight of the visit was when Ms. Chimbusomma, a 400-level Public Administration student, demonstrated how to access databases from her portal.
The centre provided all required academic materials, staff files, and information on facilitators, expressing optimism that the accreditation exercise would be successfully completed.
