The results of the Mock UTME are expected to be released either on Thursday evening or Friday.
Over 260,000 candidates have participated in this year's Mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (Mock UTME) held across 793 Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres nationwide.
The Registrar/Chief Executive of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Professor Ishaq Oloyede, disclosed this after monitoring the mock examination in some Abuja centres.
Professor Oloyede expressed satisfaction with the seamless conduct of the exercise and emphasized that the exam aimed to assess preparedness for the main UTME, scheduled to commence on Friday, April 19, 2024.He also mentioned that the exam body successfully conducted a recruitment examination for the Nigerian Police on the previous day.
Regarding the mock UTME, Oloyede acknowledged a few incidents in about four centres, which are being addressed. He assured that even in cases of complete shutdown, measures would be taken to accommodate affected candidates.
Furthermore, Professor Oloyede stated that out of the 1.98 million candidates registered for the main 2024 UTME, over 260,000 participated in the mock exam. He explained that the limited number of participants in the mock exam was to ensure it remains a test of the system and not an additional examination.
Speaking on the readiness for the main UTME, the JAMB Registrar affirmed the board's full preparedness and highlighted the deployment of new mechanisms to further fortify the examination system.
The results of the Mock UTME are expected to be released either on Thursday evening or Friday. In addition, Information and Communications Technology (ICT) consultant at JAMB, Damilola Bamiro, emphasized the exam body's continuous monitoring of all participating centres through JAMB's Situation Room.
