Oyo SSS3 Student Peace Oluwaseyi Oladosu Becomes One-day House of Representatives Member

Miss Peace Oluwaseyi Oladosu, a Senior Secondary School 3 (SSS3) student of Favourland College, Igboora, Oyo State, has been named a one-day member of the House of Representatives. She will attend a plenary session and meet with Speaker Tajudeen Abbas once the federal lawmakers return from their Sallah break.

This initiative, sponsored by Hon. Adebayo Adepoju, who represents Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, aims to engage and inspire young minds. Oladosu, a native of Idere town, won an intellectual competition that saw significant participation from secondary school students across the five principal towns of the federal constituency.

In a statement released by Mr. Hassan Adesodi Olaoniye, Special Adviser to Adepoju on Media and Publicity, it was detailed that the competition tested the students' presentation, essay writing, and spelling bee skills. Judges included Senior Legislative Aide Barrister Lekan Awolusi, Dr. Feyisitan Ijimakinwa, and Dr. Chidinma Danjibo from the University of Ibadan.

The initiative aims to foster future legislators from the constituency and inspire children to succeed regardless of their socio-economic background. Each finalist received N50,000, and Adepoju also presented a 54-page report detailing his one-year in office.
