Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Prof Abayomi Arigbabu, has affirmed that an SS3 student of Agbara Grammar School in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the state, Akanni Olawale, along with his parents, will soon appear in court for allegedly assaulting one of the teachers and the school principal.
The incident reportedly occurred on Wednesday, February 14, when the Principal, Mr. Ajibola Olanrewaju, confiscated Olawale’s uniform due to alleged unruly behavior and lack of respect. Olanrewaju also argued that since Olawale registered for the May/June West African Senior Secondary School Examinations in another private school, he should not represent himself as a student of Agbara Grammar School.
Upon learning of the uniform confiscation, Olawale, accompanied by his parents, returned to the school and allegedly attacked the principal. In the ensuing altercation, Olawale purportedly slapped one of the teachers and tore his clothes.
