Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State grants a full scholarship to Master Israel Echezona, a 17-year-old top performer in the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology entrance exam, covering all expenses for pilot training.
In a landmark gesture of support for youth education and skill development, Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah, has awarded a full scholarship to Master Israel Echezona, a 17-year-old who achieved the highest score in the entrance examination of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology, Zaria. The governor committed to covering the initial fees of N23.2 million and all subsequent costs until the completion of Echezona’s pilot training program.
During a reception at the Government House, Governor Mbah congratulated Echezona, emphasizing the importance of nurturing young talents to drive the state’s development. “You have made us proud. This scholarship is part of our broader initiative to provide the youth with the skills and education needed for a bright future,” stated Mbah. He urged Echezona to continue excelling, thereby justifying the state's investment in his education.

Echezona, accompanied by his mother, Mrs. Ukamaka Echezona, expressed profound gratitude and a commitment to make Enugu State proud. “Governor Mbah has shown there is hope for Nigeria. I urge my peers to work hard and trust that opportunities will come,” he said.
Mrs. Echezona, overjoyed by the governor's swift response to their request, shared her initial despair at the high cost of the aviation training. “I had lost hope due to the financial burden, but within a week of reaching out, we received the governor’s support. This act of kindness proves that the government is truly for the people,” she remarked.
