Peter University Hosts Renowned Literary Scholars for Academic Engagement

Peter University recently welcomed renowned literary scholars, Prof. Joe Ndibe and Dr. Terri Ochiagha. The amiable scholars were received by the University Pro-Chancellor, Prof. Au. Nnonyelu and the Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Prof. Chukwuemenam Emmanuel Umezinwa.

Dr. Ochiagha who is currently working on a biography of the legendary Chinua Achebe, engaged students in an inspiring interactive session which was moderated by Prof. Ndibe. She encouraged students to discover their passions, remain true to themselves, and resist societal pressures.

"Know yourself, be honest with yourself, and focus on becoming the best version of yourself," she advised, citing Achebe's authenticity as a key factor in his success.

Responding to a question from Marvellous Okoli, a 200-level Software Engineering student, Dr. Ochiagha remarked that, "Whatever you dream of, you can achieve. Do not limit yourself. The sky is your limit; just have faith."

She also shared insights into the extensive research involved in writing a biography, including studying archives, interviewing family members and associates, and visiting places connected to the subject's life.

The engaging session left students inspired and reaffirmed Peter University's commitment to fostering intellectual growth through meaningful interactions with distinguished scholars.
