Parastatals Monitoring Office (PMO) concludes staff manpower statistics exercise for staff of the university, gives Lagos State University (LASU) clean bill of health.

Officials of the Lagos State Government Parastatals Monitoring Office who arrived on the University main campus, Ojo, on Monday, to begin the two-day compilation of Manpower Statistics Exercise for staff of the university, have concluded their assignment and given the institution a clean bill of health with regards to the submission of staff pension records. 

"Part of the mandate of PMO is to ensure the smooth running of Parastatals of government, especially in the administrative and financial guidelines, and that is what we have come to do in LASU. And having gone through your records, we can say that they are clean", said Dr. Ogunlade Philips, who led the team to the university. 

He made the assertion on the evening of Tuesday, 1st August,  2023, while presenting his team's report to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, in the presence of other members of management and the leadership of the Bursary Department and Directorate of Internal Audit. 

His assertion was also corroborated by Mr. Fajimi Olalekan, the Resident Officer, PMO, Governor's Office who said that the exercise was primarily to assess the compliance rate of pensions deduction and remittance in the university. 

The Vice Chancellor, in her response, appreciated the team for the hard work and expressed her pleasure that the University was found clean. "We are always for transparency and accountability and that is why you found our papers clean", she said. He also assured that other areas of observation would be acted upon swiftly. 

The exercise will also take place at the Epe Campus on Thursday, 3rd and Friday 4th August 2023 between 10:00am and 3:00pm.
