Rite Foods Donates Educational Materials to 2,000 Indigent Students

Rite Foods Limited, an indigenous company, has donated educational materials to 2,000 public school students in underserved communities in Lagos and Ogun states. The gesture aims to lessen the financial burden on parents and improve learning outcomes for the students.

The donated materials include school bags and exercise books, with the school bags uniquely produced from the company's nylon waste. The initiative is part of the company's social intervention efforts in education.

The beneficiaries were selected from schools in Kosofe LGA, Lagos State, and Ososa near Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State. The company plans to reach out to pupils from Abuja schools in the near future. The donation aligns with the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4, 13, and 17.

The head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Department at Rite Foods Ltd, Mr. Ekuma Eze, emphasized the significance of supporting children's education, especially those from low-income families. The head of Human Resources at Rite Foods Ltd, Ismail Ganiyu, urged the students to be committed to their studies and use the donated materials for intended purposes.

The head teacher of Moslem Primary School, Ososa, Ogun State, and the Chairman of the School-Based Management Committee of Kosofe LGA, commended the donor for the gesture, noting its potential impact on the beneficiaries, teachers, parents, and society at large.
