Ritman University, on Wednesday, 10th December 2025, hosted a soul-stirring Christmas Carol Service, bringing together management, staff, students, and invited guests for an evening of worship, music, dance, and spiritual reflection.
The event, held at the University Auditorium, featured captivating musical performances by university choirs and invited artists, along with energetic dance displays, processional hymns, scripture readings, and special presentations, all celebrating the essence of Christmas with warmth, harmony, and gratitude.
A central highlight was the exhortation by Rev. Fr. Dr. Moses Sade, who delivered a message on “The Six Pillars of Christmas.” He emphasized that Christmas goes beyond tradition, highlighting six core values:
- Love: God’s unconditional gift through Christ’s birth.
- Hope: The assurance that light triumphs over darkness.
- Peace: Reconciliation and calm brought by Christ.
- Joy: Inner gladness flowing from God’s presence.
- Sacrifice: Spirit of giving and selflessness.
- Faith: Trust anchoring believers to God’s promises.
He encouraged the university community to embody these pillars in daily life and interactions.
In his remarks, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Akan B. Williams praised the organisers and the community for orchestrating a culturally rich and spiritually uplifting celebration. The Founder, Sen. Emmanuel Ibok Essien, FNSE, delivered the Vote of Thanks, acknowledging all contributors to the event’s success.
The carol service reached a stirring climax with a Closing Hallelujah Chorus, conducted by the Dean of Student Affairs, Mrs. Rita Umoh, uniting the hall in a powerful finale. The ceremony concluded with a Closing Prayer by Rev. Dr. Ndifreke Usoro, committing all attendees to God’s guidance and protection.
The 2025 Christmas Carol at Ritman University stood as a memorable celebration of music, culture, and spirituality, reinforcing the institution’s dedication to nurturing moral, cultural, and academic excellence.
