The Rivers State University (RSU) on Monday, September 1, 2025, held its White Coat Ceremony and Clinical Orientation for first-year clinical (4th-year MBBS) students of the College of Medical Sciences.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Isaac Zeb-Obipi, graced the event, which marked a major milestone in the academic journey of the 111 students as they transitioned into the clinical phase of their medical training.

The ceremony, held at the College of Medical Sciences, was attended by the Chief Medical Director of the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital, the Provost of the College of Medical Sciences, Deans, Heads of Departments, Professors, academic and non-academic staff, as well as proud parents of the students.

The White Coat Ceremony symbolized the students’ commitment to the values of the medical profession, as they prepare to undertake clinical responsibilities in their journey to becoming medical doctors.
